NORD Teen Camps and JOB1

  • Applications for NORD Teen Camps and (JOB1) NOLA Youth Works are now available online, where you will complete the Pre- Registration form. Registration completion is accepted by appointment only for NORD and (JOB1) NOLA Youth Works offerings. Space is limited, so the City strongly encourages participants to complete the pre-registration link to apply early.
  • To better prepare for the registration process, visit www.nola.gov/nolayouthworks click the youth information tab, and read the entire page before registering. You will receive an email to schedule your appointment as soon as the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Please print your application and bring all the required documents to your appointment.

This connects you to trained, compassionate counselors who can offer support and who can direct you to mental health and substance abuse counseling services.

#GetYaMindRight virtual support chat line

  • In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve partnered with Institute of Women & Ethnic Studies (IWES) to create #GetYaMindRight – a virtual support group which will be led by psychiatrist and trauma expert, Dr. Denese Shervington, and IWES social workers. Participants can learn how to understand and manage thoughts, feelings and fears during this pandemic. You will have an opportunity to: share how you are experiencing fear; learn how to put your anxiety in perspective relative to the threat of the pandemic; learn tools to calm your mind and body; and, gain do-able tips for self-care and wellness.

University of Holy Cross (UHC) Counseling Center

  • University of Holy Cross (UHC) Counseling Center in Algiers are able to provide free phone or video counseling services to anyone that needs it.  
  • They are open Mon-Thu 1100a-800pm and those needing services should call 504-398-2168 for intake and scheduling

Relief for Artists - Creative Response

  • Antenna, Ashe Cultural Arts Center, Junebug Productions, and The Weavers Fellowship have established a collaborative emergency relief fund as part of a broader initiative called Creative Response, to support local creators impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. 
  • Creative Response will provide emergency grants of $2,000 to local creators, distribute art and activity kits to New Orleans youth, and is currently serving as a resource hub of information, opportunities, advocacy, and professional development support for creators and organizations.

Gig Economy Relief Fund

  • New Orleans Business Alliance has set up the Gig Economy Relief Fund – a pool of funding set up to provide micro-grants to gig economy professionals in need of assistance. Those eligible to receive assistance from the fund are individuals who: reside in Orleans Parish; earn their income via gig work; and can demonstrate a loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More information on eligibility requirements and the application process can be found online at www.nolaba.org/relief-fund.
